The content of the course will include:
- Parents and their children
Considering the issues of nature and nurture on behaviour and learning and some of the risk factors in developing effective links between the school and home environment
- Demystifying issues of SEN and DDA
Looking at a range of SEN terms, which incorporates those of different behaviour and learning types including; ASD, ADHD, BD, ODD and SpLD. We will also review the best ways of working with parents in co-operating on these issues
- Developing effective school/home rituals and routines
Suggestions on how to link effective strategies relating to behaviour management from school to the home, including an evaluation of the highly effective 1,2,3 Magic approach to discipline
- Troubleshooting between Home and School
Considering 10 common of issues that can cause conflict between school and home. Attendance, Teacher/Pupil conflict, Homework, Diet, Sleeping, Friendships, Mobiles, Reporting, Transport, School Trips/Selection for Sports Teams
- Resilience, Respect and Role Models
Actively helping to create positive and practive pathways for the children at risk from school failure or even exclusion.
- Transition and future prospects
Being proactive on the issue of transition either to the next stage of education within or between schools and/or college
